Lauren Mellen is a technology attorney and former Deputy General Counsel who helps technology companies building complex, IP-rich products. She brings deep expertise across product development, commercial contracting, and operational strategy – helping clients structure deals, manage risk, and move faster without sacrificing legal rigor.

At Magic Leap, she played a key role in the development and launch of two augmented reality platforms, navigating the legal, regulatory, and business complexities of bringing cutting-edge hardware and software to market. Lauren particularly enjoys partnering with growth-stage companies to align legal strategy with business goals and remove barriers to execution.
Lauren advises across a range of deal structures – from joint development and strategic partnerships to technology procurement and licensing. She’s particularly skilled at embedding with product and operations teams to solve not just legal issues, but broader business and operational challenges.
Her technical fluency spans AR/VR, optics, AI, computer vision, software systems, and interactive content. She has supported clients across industries including XR, entertainment, MedTech, defense, manufacturing, and design.
